PCST confers awards to scientists
HYDERABAD: The Pakistan Council for Science and Technology of Federal Ministry of Science and Technology has granted the productivity award to 17 scientists of the University of Sindh in different categories based on their research productivity.
The University spokesman informed here on Tuesday that Pakistan Council for Science and Technology under its research evaluation programme regularly evaluates the quality and quantum of international level research of Pakistan scientists.
Based upon this evaluation, the council is providing Research Productivity Award as incentive to Pakistani scientists and engineers for carrying out research of high international standard since 2001.
Three scientists of University of Sindh have received productivity award in category A, one Scientist has received productivity award in category B and E , seven in category F and five in Category G.
Those who have received the Productivity award in category A are Prof. Dr. Muhammad Iqbal Bhanger Director, Dr. Tasneem Gul Kazi Professor and Dr. Hassan Imran Afreedi, Lecturer of National Center of Excellence in Analytical hemistry University of Sindh while in category B one scientist Dr. Muhammad Yar Khuhawar Director Institute of Advanced Research Studies University of Sindh has received productivity award.
Dr. Mubeena Akhtar Rajput Associate Professor of National Center of Excellence in Analytical Chemistry has received Productivity award in category E.
Dr. Nek Muhammad Shaikh Assistant Professor of Institute of Physics, Dr. Saima Qayoom Memon of Institute of Advanced Research Studies in Chemical Sciences, Dr. Shahbuddin Memon, Syed Abdul Qadir Shah, Dr. Ghulam Abbas Knadhro, Dr. Syed Tufail Hussain Shah and Jameel Ahmed Baig of National Center of Excellence in Analytical Chemistry have received Productivity award in category F.
Dr. Amber Rehana Solangi, Dr. Sarfraz Ahmed Mahesar, Dr. Sirajuddin, Dr. Imdadullah, and Imam Bux Solangi of National Center of Excellence in Analytical Chemistry have received productivity award in category G.
All productivity award recipients will also receive a Commendation Certificates sent by Pakistan Council for Science and Technology in a ceremony to be organized by the University of Sindh shortly.
