Story time: A seaside adventure
One bright sunny day I ran downstairs excitedly to my parents. I asked if we were still going to the beach for a week.
“Yes, we are,” answered mum and added as I hugged her in excitement, “After breakfast we will set off!”
I ate my dinner quickly and got ready to set off. Dad was wearing a blue shorts with a green t-shirt that had palm trees printed on it, mum was wearing a pink top and purple trouser and I was wearing a pink skirt with a light blue top and we were all ready for a fantastic holiday.
After a two-hour journey by car, we finally got there. I could not stop myself and ran towards the sea as soon as the car stopped. The water was gleaming like a sapphire and gentle waves touched my feet as I ran on the soft yellow sand.
“Aiman,” called mum. She wanted me to help her with the unpacking. We spread a sheet on the sand and took out the snacksand drinks we had brought. Then we all sat down to enjoy ourselves as we eat chicken samosas, pizza and kheer.
Then my parents and I started playing with a Frisbee as I tried to catch it, I saw a blue bubble on the beach. I wondered what on earth it was.
“Dad, have a look at this strange thing,” I cried. Dad screamed at us not to touch it and told me that it was a type of jelly fish which could sting.
The next day I was collecting lovely sea shells when I heard someone screaming in pain. It was a girl in the next hut.
“What happened”? I asked her. Her name was Komal and her mum told me that she was playing on the beach and suddenly started crying because of pain in the leg. We saw swelling and redness on the leg. I called dad and he told them that it was because of the blue jelly fish on the beach and gave her some medicine.
The following day they visited us with some yummy chocolates. She told us that her pain disappeared. Komal became my best friend and we had a wonderful time with them. Overall, our stay at the beach was full of fun — we went on boating trips, horse and camel rides and had loads of fun playing on the beach and in the water.
The days passed very quickly and soon it was time to go back. Both of us hugged each other and gave friendship bracelets to each other. I will always remember this holiday at the beach with a smile.
