Teacher shot dead in Gilgit

GILGIT, Dec 22: A teacher of a local school was killed by his opponents here in Jutial on Thursday.

According to police, Jahangir Khan, a teacher of a school, was on his way to appear in test for the post of assistant in the GB secretariat when his enemies opened firing on him in Jutial. As a result, Mr Khan died on the spot.

The police, who arrived at the scene after half an hour of the incident, took the body to the hospital for postmortem. Later, they registered a murder case against one Abdul Sattar and started investigation. PROROGUED:

The 19th session of the Gilgit-Baltistan Legislative Assembly was prorogued by Speaker Wazir Baig on Thursday.

The session began late due to late arrival of the members and later during question hour a few members raised questions, which were answered by the treasury.
