DERA ISMAIL KHAN: Appointment of judge challenged

DERA ISMAIL KHAN, Nov 17: Kalim Arshad Khan, a local advocate, who had topped a written test and was equally successful in interview for the post of additional district and sessions judge during March-May this year and who was not selected, has challenged the appointment against the post in the Peshawar High Court (PHC) through a writ petition.

The registrar of the high court, on the orders of chief justice, had appointed four advocates, from different parts of the province, additional district and sessions judges on 19.9.2001.

The appointments have been challenged on the grounds that the petitioner had stood first both in the written test and interview conducted by three judges of the Peshawar High Court.
