Militants attack paramilitary base, 15 soldiers abducted

TANK: Militants attacked a paramilitary base on Friday in the Mulazai area of the northwestern Tank district, killing a soldier and wounding two others, DawnNews reported.

According to security officials, militants attacked the Frontier Corps (FC) base in the early hours of the day. In addition to the casualties, the attackers abducted 15 other soldiers from the camp.

Security officials said a large contingent of paramilitary troops and armed forces reached the location and started a search operation.

Speaking to DawnNews, local commander of the outlawed Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) Asmatullah Shaheen Bhitani verified that the 15 soldiers were being held captive.

Moreover, he claimed that a security forces vehicle as well as the soldiers' weapons and a wireless set were also in their possession.
