Man and son killed in Quetta firing

QUETTA: Unidentified armed men opened fire and killed a man and his son on Link Badini road in the provincial capital on Thursday morning.

PS Satellite Town official Mr. Tariq told APP that a man along with his son driving in their Alto car were on their way to offices when armed men riding a bike opened fire at their vehicle. As a result, the two were killed on the site. The assailants managed to flee, he added.

The bodies of the victims were shifted to Sandeman Civil hospital morgue.

The police official further said that one of the dead was identified as Sher Muhammad Samalani and second as his son Muhammad Rafeeq Samalani.

Sher Muhammad was an employee at Excise Department Quetta and Muhammad Rafeeq at National Highway Authority (NHA) Quetta office. The two were resident of Killi Taj Sariab.

The police have registered a case against unknown suspects and started investigation into the incident. No arrest could be made in this regard so far.
