Seven killed in Gujrat ambush

GUJRAT: Seven people, including a policeman, were killed on Monday when armed men opened fire during an ambush in a village in Gujrat, DawnNews reported.

Six motorcyclists opened fire on Raja Ashraf, a resident of the Mullah Gurh area, and his companions at Galyana Mor, resulting in deaths of six of a family and a policeman.

Police termed the incident a result of an old enmity.

Heirs of the deceased staged a protest by placing the bodies at the mor (crossing) and chanted slogans against the police.

They insisted that the protest would continue until the Supreme Court takes notice of the incident.

Eye witnesses alleged that police reached the site of the incident after an hour.
