Fazl visits Okara

OKARA, Jan 8: JUI chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman has reiterated his stand that any election exercise in the absence of an independent election commission and computerized voters’ lists would be meaningless.

He was talking to newsmen here on Sunday evening during his visit to Jamia Madnia to condole the death of widow of late Maulana Syed Amir Hussain Shah Gilani.Fazl said the PPP would not be able to win next elections on the slogan of `roti, kapra aur makan’.

Talking about prospects of MMA revival, Fazl said Jamaat-i-Islami had been demanding 50 per cent seats in KP which the JUI-F could not approve without consulting other components of the alliance.

He said his contact with Mian Nawaz Sharif was expected within next few days as some common friends had been making efforts in this regard.
