Policeman killed in Quaidabad

KARACHI, Jan 11: A head constable was gunned down in a Quaidabad locality on Wednesday evening, police said.

They said that Head Constable Sher Afzal was sitting outside his house in Muzaffarabad Colony within the remit of the Qualdabad police station when two assailants riding a motorcycle fired at him and escaped.

The police said that he suffered two gunshot wounds in the chest and the face and died on the spot.

The body was shifted to the Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre for a post-mortem examination.

The slain head constable was posted at the Awami Colony police station.

DSP Nasir Lodhi said that a few weeks back, the victim's nephew was also killed in the area. He said that Sher Afzal belonged to the Mehsud tribe.
