LAHORE, Jan 18: Punjab Law Minister Rana Sanaullah Khan says although talks with any party cannot be ruled out, no contacts have been established with the PML-Q so far.

'Our leadership has held no talks with the PML-Q though in democracy parleys with any political party cannot be ruled out,' he told the Punjab Assembly Press Gallery Committee here on Wednesday.

Of the likeminded faction of the PMLQ, he said: 'Those whose thoughts will be common with us will join the PML-N.

He said aftershocks of any court decision against the prime minister would neither be felt in the parliament nor in the provincial assembly, which is goinginto session from Thursday (today), as a new candidate could be put into the field in a democratic manner in case the earlier one was removed from office.

Sana alleged that former federal law minister Babar Awan and a couple of others had pushed the PPP government towards the current situation but hoped that inclusion of Barrister Aitzaz Ahsan in the prime minister's legal team would improve the situation.

He told a questioner that the PML-N would consider all aspects before opting for resignations, long march and other mode of protest instead of blindly following the 'establishment Khan's' advice, a reference to Imran Khan's calls for quitting from assemblies topave way for new polls.

The provincial minister said his party would not resign only to leave the field open for the PPP government to bring in an opposition leader and an interim setup of its choice for manipulating the general elections.

About the bills sent back by the governor with certain objections, he said the law department had found these objections as frivolous and that the bills would be again sent to the governor for his assent after re-approval from the house.

He called it a mere coincidence that the session would be starting from the day when the Supreme Court would be hearing a contempt case against the prime minister.
