SARGODHA, Jan 21: Those brought to power by dictators are again trying to use backdoors for the purpose but people will not let them do it again.

Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani said this here on Saturday while addressing a public gathering.

He said people were the real source of power and only they could bring revolution and this could be neither done by those depending on 'hidden forces' nor the ones who got power with the blessings of dictator.

Apparently referring to Imran Khan and his Tehrik-i-Insaf, he said a leader who claimed to be 'talk of the town' had neither any manifesto nor any programme for the welfare of the masses, asking how he could bring a revolution? He said the Pakistan People's Party had not attained power through backdoor, add-ing that those who came into power with the support of dictators were striving hard once again to do so through backdoor but people would not allow them to succeed.

During his visit, the prime minister inaugurated regional offices of Income Tax and Sui Northern Gas pipelines Limited (SNGPL).

On the occasion, some of the participants raised slogans against local officials of SNGPL and Income Tax while PPP leaders made futile attempts to silence them.

The PM announced funds for setting up a teaching hospital for Sargodha Medical College, an Astroturf hockey ground, besides Rs250 million for setting up IT centres at union council level and Kutchery Road underpass.

He assured the lawyers that a high court bench in Sargodha would soon be established, announcing one million ru-pees grant for the district bar association. He also announced Rs3 million for the local press club.

He announced elimination of export duty on exporting citrus fruit to Indonesia, besides a 132KV grid station. Besides announcing sewing machines for needy women, he directed Baitul Maal to provide financial assistance to a girl suffering from cancer and another ailing man.

The prime minister was accompanied by Qamaruz Zaman Kaira, Nazar Muhammad Gondal, Nadeem Afzal Chan, Chaudhry Safdar Warraich and PML-Q leader and federal minister Chaudhry Anwar Ali Cheema and Chaudhry Ghias Ahmad Mela.

Tasneem Warraich, a former federal minister of state, presented welcome address and his brother Mateen Qureshi crowned the prime minister.
