Lawlessness in Larkana flayed
ISLAMABAD, Nov 30: Pakistan People’s Party Chairperson Benazir Bhutto has expressed concern over the deteriorating law and order situation in Larkana district.
“It is a matter of grave concern that in Larkana district, and especially in the Ratodero constituency, robberies, dacoities, abductions and murders are being committed almost daily”, she said in a statement issued by the PPP media cell here on Saturday.
Celebrated writers like Malik Agani of Ratodero, whose services to the literature were widely acknowledged, had been brutally murdered in broad day light, along with his young son, she said.
“There are many who believe that this brutal murder was politically motivated”, the former PM said.
She said the high crime rate and inability of the regime to arrest murderers, kidnappers and criminals showed a sheer neglect of the basic duty of the state which was responsible to safeguard the lives of innocent people.
Ms Bhutto recalled that during the PPP government criminals had been on the run because the PPP was committed to protecting the rights of ordinary citizens.
