Nationalists remember slain comrades
SANGHAR, Feb 14: Activists of a number of nationalist parties on Tuesday gathered at Bakhoro Mori, five kilometres from here, and lay floral wreaths at the place where three of their colleagues were shot dead in mysterious circumstances on April 21 last year.
Activists of the Jeay Sindh Muttahida Mahaz, Jeay Sindh Qaumi Mahaz, Jeay Sindh Students Federation and Sindh Taraqqi Pasand Party gathered at the place where JSMM leaders Serai Qurban Khuhawar, Rooplo Cholyani and Noorullah Tunio had come under attack.
The JSMM blamed law enforcement agencies for the shooting, saying its leaders were going to Sanghar from Khipro when a group of assailants opened fire on them. The shots caused the car’s gas cylinder to burst, causing death of Khuhawar and Cholyani.
Noorullah Tunio survived the attack with 70 per cent burns and was taken to Sanghar Civil Hospital but he too died after a few days.
The activists laid floral wreaths and hoisted a flag of Jeay Sindh while some youths fired in the air.
Hafeez Sindhi of JSMM read out a massage of the party chairman Shafi Mohammad Burfat in which he said that he would takerevenge of the brave activists who had been killed by law-enforcement agencies.
Mr Burfat appealed to the United Nations to play a role in stopping bloodshed of JSMM activists and ensure safe recovery of missing activists picked by law enforcement agencies.
JSMM Vice-Chairman Dr Zain said that Sindh had been a slave for the past 60 years and it yearned for deliverance. “Punjab has usurped Sindh’s resources in the name of federation,” he said.
JSSF president Hafeez Pirzado, Munir Cholyani, Sajjad Shar and others also addressed the gathering. Activists had arrived from Larkana, Jacobabad, Badin, Hyderabad, Karachi, Mirpurkhas, Nawabshah and other districts to attend the programme.
