KOHAT, Feb 25: A most wanted militant ‘commander’ allegedly involved in the killing of security personnel was arrested from his hideout in Ghurzandi area of Kohat along with two accomplices on Saturday.

Sources said police received a tip that Sufian, a ‘commander’ of the Muhammad Hanafi group of Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan, had returned to Kohat from Hangu and set up a camp.

During the pat three years, Sufian managed to escape several raids and air strikes at TTP hideouts in Orakzai Agency, Hangu and Kohat.

The elite police force raided Sufian’s hideout in Ghurzandi area of Lachi tehsil in the Kohat district and captured him alongwith his accomplices identified as Mukammal Shah and Tayyab late on Saturday night.

Three hand grenades, one Kalashnikov, pistols and cartridges were seized during the operation.

Intelligence sources said that Sufian and his accomplices were wanted to police for their alleged involvement in the murder of four security personnel and kidnapping of some staff members of the Hungarian oil and gas exploration company, MOL.
