Dr Israr Shah joins hand with PTI
ISLAMABAD: Former member of Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Central Executive Committee Dr Israr Shah on Thursday joined the Pakistan Tehrik-i-Insaf (PTI).
Speaking at a joint press conference with the party chief Imran Khan, Shah said he was joining the PTI to complete the unfinished agenda of Benazir Bhutto.
Khan, speaking on the occasion, said Shah has joined his party for the better future of country and elimination of corruption.
He said that the people of Pakistan were unnecessarily being burdened. He said the government needs to check the prices instead of piling up miseries for the poor people. “The poorer the people become, the richer the rulers get,” he added.
He said his party would carry out protest demonstrations in all provinces against inflation.
Khan also said that no other party but the PTI would arrest killers of Benazir Bhutto after coming to power.
The PTI chief said that the facts pointed by the UN inquiry about Banazirs murder were concealed.
Khan said he and his party fully condemns the Kohistan killing. He also condemned sectarian killings in Parachinar. “It is the government’s responsibility to ensure law and order,” he added.
He said that appointment of judges through parliamentarians under the 18th amendment is a way to hide corruption.
Khan said that perhaps the recent by-elections were held on the old electoral lists, adding his party would move the apex court on the issue.
