Three foreigners, two Pakistani women detained in Attock

ATTOCK, March 2: Three men of foreign origin and two Pakistani women were taken into custody at the office of an Afghan NGO here, police said.

According to sources, police raided a vocational centre of an Afghan-based NGO at the People’s Colony and held five people for their ‘suspicious presence’ in the area.

They were taken to the Attock police station where SP Investigation Yahyah Virk and officials of a sensitive agency interrogated them.

Media personnel were not allowed to speak to the detained people.

Authorities did not provide any information about the detainees or the reason for police action against them.

Quoting from travel documents, police sources identified the foreigners as James Richard, Jonathan Pawl and Daniel Ryan. They are believed to be American nationals.

The women, belonging to a Karachi-based non-governmental organisation, were identified as Saba Gul and Sumera Saher.

According to the travel documents of foreigners, they came to Pakistan from India through the Wagah border.
