Altaf Hussain appeals for peaceful protests

LONDON: Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) Chief Altaf Hussain on Saturday said that strike call for today is to target the extortion mafia only, locally know as the ‘bhatta’ and ‘parchi’ mafia and any kind of violence would not be acceptable, DawnNews reported.

According to a statement released by the MQM’s London secretariat, Altaf Hussain made an appeal to all sector and unit workers that the call for strike was given for today against the extortion mafia only, which is meant to be 100 per cent peaceful.

Moreover, he said that if any MQM worker was found responsible for any arsonist or miscreant activity, then that worker’s party membership would be suspended permanently.
