Youngest person to discover a supernova

Ten-year-old, Kathryn Gray, of Fredericton, Canada, set the world record last year by spotting an exploding star (supernova) while looking at the images of the night sky sent to her by an astronomer friend of the family.

Youngest live portrait artist

Born in 1998, when Haris Imtiyaz Khan was just 10, he was selected as the youngest artist in an online competition, in which artists from all over the world participated and was able to draw a live portrait within 30 minutes, using charcoal. From Pune, India, Haris’ parents realised that he was very talented when he was just three years old and he made a portrait of Mahatma Gandhi at the age of seven.

Youngest world map memoriser

At the age of six, Mohammed Ashik of Tamil Nadu, India, set this world record by pointing out the names of 195 countries on a plain world map (91.5 x 58 cms) within three minutes.

Youngest singer

After she started singing at the age of two, imitating her elder sister, three-year-old, Atithi Gautam, (daughter of Uddhab K. C., a renowned singer of Nepal, made the world record of being the youngest singer and had her own solo album, titled Atithi, consisting of nine songs along with the national anthem

Now eight, Shruti Pandey, Allahabad, India, started teaching yoga to adults at an ashram (yoga retreat) when she was only six!

Youngest to make a lifesaving call

When three-year-old, A.J. Hayes, from Oregon, USA, called 911 after his father Aaron accidentally cut himself with a woodchisel, possibly saving his life, he set the world record for the youngest person to make a lifesaving call.

Youngest surfer

When Jaylan Amor was just two years old, in 2007, he mastered surfing the waves outside of Brisbane, Australia, and has recurred various titles ever since. He is exceptional in catching each wave that comes to him and the skill of riding the waves seems to run in his family as his parents and his sister are keen surfers too.

Youngest CEO

Sindhuja Rajaraman, a 14-year-old girl has become the world’s youngest Chief Executive Officer (CEO). She belongs to Chennai, India and was studying in ninth standard when she became the head of Seppan Company, an animation firm, in October 2010, set up by her father.

She was adjudged the fastest 2D and 3D animator by software lobby NASSCOM (National Association of Software and Services Companies) at the Gaming and Animation Conclave 2010 held in Hyderabad, India. The company has 160 employees.

Youngest to climb Mount EverestNow 15, Jordan Romero, at the age of 13, from the ski town of Big Bear, California, near the San Bernardino Mountains, climbed Mount Everest, which is 29,028 feet (8,847 metres) above sea level, to become the youngest person to do so.
