Thatta shut as two more MPAs receive threats

THATTA, March 27: A complete strike was observed in Thatta and other towns of the district on Tuesday in protest against threatening letters sent to two more members of Sindh Assembly belonging to the district.

MPAs Humera Alwani and Sadiq Ali Memon have received letters asking them to leave Karachi or face death. The letters, issued by so-called ‘Muhajir Province Liberation Army’ were delivered at their Karachi residences through courier services.

Carrying placards, wearing black arm bands and raising slogans, activists of Pakistan People’s Party marched from Makli upto Thatta.

They burnt tyres on the National Highway as a result of which traffic remained suspended for quite sometime.
