RAWALPINDI: Leader of the Opposition in National Assembly Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan Tuesday spoke out against political parties that have criticised the unanimously-passed resolution on new terms of engagement with US, saying it has been approved keeping the national interest supreme.
“I challenge them to prove even a single clause of the resolution which goes against the national interest. The Parliament adopted the resolution keeping the national interests above all,” Nisar said addressing a press conference at Punjab House.
He advised the political parties to go through all clauses of the resolution prior to criticising and scoring points. Chaudhry Nisar said Pakistan Muslim League (N) always played a constructive role for people-friendly legislation.
He said the government had withdrawn the clauses about Nato supply as they were related to administrative affairs.
To a question he said there is no red line for the people desiring to join the PML-N. “Anyone who has not damaged or played a role in the party's disintegration, are free to join,” he said.
Nisar said talks with PML-Likeminded are in progress and alliance with them would be announced soon, adding several political leaders are in touch with PML-N expressing desire to join the party.
The opposition leader said many heavyweights from Sindh will also announce their decision to join PML-N.
