Larkana sizzles at 49.5°

LARKANA, May 31: Larkana and Qambar-Shahdadkot districts experienced the hottest day of the season on Thursday with mercury touching 49.5 degree Celsius.

The local met office said the humidity was recorded at 20 per cent.

Roads and streets gave a deserted look with people forced to remain indoors and suffered hardships because of power outages of up to 14 hours.

The Larkana Traders Federation announced that it will launch a campaign from Monday against prolonged power outages. It said the duration of loadshedding had not been reduced despite an assurance given by the chief of SEPCO.—Correspondent
