Polio virus in Sukkur
IT has been revealed by WHO that during environmental surveillance wild polio virus has been detected in the sewerage line of Sukkur, which means virus is circulating in the area.
The virus may have been transported from other areas.
To combat the risk of getting infected, the population of Sukkur should extend full support with 100 per cent coverage of vaccination.
It is also unfortunate that the number of refusals have increased for polio vaccination.
It is the national duty of every Pakistani to help in eradicating this crippling disease.
Religious leaders, politicians, notables and the community should take part in this campaign.
We need one more campaign (the double dose) to make our less than five-year-old children strong enough to combat polio.
If any child has been left unvaccinated, people may call at this toll-free number (0800 88588) and get their child vaccinated instantly.
