Mystery of Quetta Housing Society

I AM a bona fide member of the Quetta Township Cooperative Housing Society Ltd, KDA Scheme 33, Karachi.

I was allotted a residential plot of 300 square yards in the society’s Sector 3-A. However, I have been unable to reach it for quite some time. When I call 3644808, nobody picks up the phone. Besides, all registered letters of mine have been returned undelivered to me with the postman’s remark ‘left the place’, meaning the owners have moved.

Even neighbouring shopkeepers have no idea as to where the Quetta Township Cooperative Housing Society’s office has now moved to from its location which used to be C-027, Block No13, Water Pump, Federal B Area, Karachi.

According to a March 23, 2005, report appearing in Karachi’s The Star (now defunct), “Sindh Governor Dr Ishrat-ul-Ibad Khan gave important directives to revive the defunct KDA Scheme 33 and transfer the scheme to the CDGK, Karachi, recovering dues and fixation of land prices”.

What is the latest status of the Society is not known to me!

As a last resort through the courtesy of your esteemed paper, the secretary of the society is requested to please apprise us of their latest postal address and the position of the development work in Sector 3-A. Please also let me know if any arrears have to be paid to keep my record in order.

M. SHAFIQUE AHMED (Membership No: 2871 Sector 3-A) Karachi
