Profiteers in Murree

RECENTLY, I went to Murree with my family to get some respite from the heat of Rawalpindi.

It seemed like everybody else had thronged the hill resort being an easily reachable place.

What was disappointing was that everybody seemed to make the most of it being the peak season. First of all, finding a car parking was next to impossible.

And if there was any, the contractors were charging as much as Rs200 per hour. They had no fear that anybody would report them to the authorities concerned.

In fact, they claimed that the city administration has allowed them to charge this much.

The prices of other commodities were exorbitant too, particularly eatables, but the people had the option of bringing their own food.

We often hear in the news that the chief minister of Punjab is a great administrator. I wonder if he knows what is happening in one of his favourite places.
