Pakistani businessmen invited to visit Afghanistan

KARACHI: Pakistan Afghanistan Joint Chamber of Commerce & Industry (PAJCCI) has kept its promise and provided Afghani businessmen an opportunity to visit Pakistan and interact with Pakistani business community for transforming bi-lateral economic deals, Head of Afghan delegation and Vice President, PAJCCI-Afghanistan Chapter, M. Yonass Mohmand said during a visit to Karachi.

President PAJCCI, M. Zubair Motiwala welcomed the delegation at the Membership Kiosk of PAJCCI at My Karachi event and led the networking activity of the delegation at the Expo Centre.

The delegation visited other stalls at the exhibition and was enthralled with the response shown by business community of Pakistan at the Membership kiosk of PAJCCI.

Zubair Motiwala, who is also Chairman Sindh Board of Investment (SBOI), organized a presentation meeting highlighting investment and business opportunities available to the business communities across the border.

He said that transactional business must be replaced with partnerships between the two countries for the greater good and long-term relationship. He offered Head of Afghan Delegate to deliberate upon existing opportunities available in Sindh and take a step forward to capitalize upon it.

The Afghan delegates were also welcomed by Chief Minister Sindh, Syed. Qaim Ali Shah at CM House where he encouraged the step of forming this unique Chamber, focused upon business needs and opportunities existing between the two neighboring nations.

Later the delegation and board members of PAJCCI met Munir Qureshi, Secretary Ministry of Commerce, Pakistan and shared the concerns of business communities across the border.

Atiqullah Mominzada, Vice President, PAJCCI-Afghanistan Chapter, appreciated the way KCCI had conducted My Karachi exhibition by bringing together business community from across the region.

He said that next year, Afghani exhibitors will be in majority at this esteemed exhibition and also announced that the same platform will be provided to Pakistani businessmen in Afghanistan.

PAJCCI- Afghan Chapter has also invited business delegation from Pakistan on the same level in October 2012, which shows commitment to enhance bi-lateral ties across the border, a release said on Thursday.
