Korean firm to set up solar plant near Quetta
QUETTA, Aug 9: A Korean company will set up a 300MW solar power plant near Quetta at a cost of $900 million.
An agreement to this effect was signed by the CX Solar company and the Balochistan government at a ceremony attended by Chief Minister Nawab Aslam Raisani and Mir Changez Khan Jamali, a federal minister.
The provincial government has allocated 1,500 acres of land for the project.
“In the first phase, a 50MW plant will be set up,” an official told Dawn, adding the project would comprise six units.
He said the company had started preparing the feasibility report which would be completed by November and the two-year project would be launched in March next year.
The chief minister said the huge foreign investment had proved that the law and order situation in the province was not a hurdle and investors had trust in the provincial government.
