ABBOTTABAD, Sept 20: Peshawar High Court Chief Justice Dost Mohammad Khan said on Thursday that the judiciary had no grudge against anyone and it was working for the supremacy of constitution and rule of law.

He asked the judges to make courts as centre of justice through their behaviour and commitment with cause, which demanded from them to perform their duty with honesty and integrity.

The chief justice was speaking here at the inaugural ceremony of two newly-constructed courtrooms of Abbottabad Bench of the Peshawar High Court. Abbottabad High Court Bar Association’s president Saeed Akhtar also spoke on the occasion.

The chief justice said that the judiciary could go to any extent for the supremacy of constitution. He said that the judiciary had given very important decisions which were not accepted by some elements and they were annoyed and targeting the judiciary.He added that it should be kept in mind that judiciary had given every decision on merit and would continue to act as the protector of constitution and custodian of law.

He said that a draft bill for the establishment of mobile courts had been sent to Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government for its approval from the provincial assembly so as to provide speedy justice at local level. He said that once the law was enacted it would help in reducing 40 per cent burden on the existing courts.

Justice Dost Mohammad Khan praised the lawyers for the revival of judiciary in the country and called upon them to join hands with the judiciary to curb corruption from the courts.

He said that corruption was intolerable in any department, but in judiciary it was an unforgivable sin.

He said that the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Judicial Academy in Peshawar was imparting training to lawyers and judges of the province.

The chief justice  said that he was personally looking after the academy, adding that lawyers and subordinate judges would be given equal chance of participation in the training courses on merit. He announced establishment of a bar room having all modern facilities at the high court’s Abbottabad building.
