Purse for women soccer event unveiled
LAHORE, Sept 26: The Pakistan Football Federation (PFF) has decided a package of Rs300,000 for the team winning the eighth National Women Football Championship scheduled to be held from Sept 28 to Oct 10.
According to a press release issued here by the country’s football governing body, PFF president Faisal Saleh Hayat took the decision at a meeting held here on Wednesday.The runners-up will get Rs200,000 while the third position holder Rs150,000.
Fair play prize money will be Rs40,000 and the best goalkeeper will receive Rs40,000 while the best player of the championship will get Rs25,000 with Misha Dawood Trophy and maximum goal scorer will pocket Rs40,000.
Introducing the best referee and assistant referee (female) awards, the PFF has also decided to give the former Rs30,000 with the latter getting Rs15000.
Moreover, for the first time the match bonus system has also been introduced by the PFF in the women’s competition to encourage players and officials of the participating teams.
Each match in group stage has a bonus of Rs15,000 including Rs10,000 for winners and Rs5,000 for the losing side.
In case of a draw both the teams will get Rs7,500. The best player of each match will get Rs1,500.
From quarter-final stage, the match bonus will be Rs20,000 with the winners getting Rs12,500 while the losing team Rs7,500.
Similarly, the prize amount of semi-finals has been fixed at Rs25,000 for each match in which winner team will get Rs15,000 and the losing team Rs10,000.—Sports Reporter
