21:55 PST

Dirk Nannes, commentating for BBC Test Match Special, says:

"India and Pakistan's net run rate are so close together that if it rains on Tuesday, those last few balls India faced could make all the difference."

21:43 PST

India achieve their target with three overs to spare, run-rate will be a big factor if India beat South Africa and Pakistan beat Australia. Ajmal was once again not properly utilised, and even before the match was out Pakistan's grip, it seemed Hafeez was playing for the net run rate. Pakistan, India and South Africa all in with a sniff. Pakistan's NRR -0.43, India's -0.45 and South Africa's -0.605.

21:42 PST

BOUNDARY- Four Kohli smashes Gul on the up, great shot! Gul follows it up with a no-ball! He looks a more capable batsman on the back of this performance. The free hit is squeezed through the covers for four! 16 runs off the over!

21:37 PST

Gul on now, and Kohli attempts to slog his slower bouncer out of the park, Nazir drops it running in from deep. Points at the flood lights after the miss?

21:34 PST

BOUNDARY- Yuvraj throws everything behind that, no chance for the fielder at long on.

21:32 PST

29 from 36. Who will it for Pakistan, can Gul do it? Afridi in his last over as India continue to just knock it around. Hafeez's captaincy not so great today, seems confused. His team has not responded well either.

21:30 PST

BOUNDARY- SIX! Kohli slams Ajmal over long! Great shot, the Pakistan spinners looking completely ineffective here.

21:29 PST

BOUNDARY- Hafeez throws it up in the air and Yuvraj sweeps it powerfully for four.

21:23 PST

BOUNDARY- Kohli plays another exquiste shot off Ajmal, almost ovff the stumps, cut to backward point!

21:21 PST

Yuvraj promoted up the order, great captaincy by Dhoni. It seems to be Yuvraj's day today, two wickets and a run out, some runs to top it off?

21:19

WICKET- Sehwag falls next ball, his big shot finding Gul at long off who balances well stay inside the ropes.

21:18 PST

BOUNDARY- Sehwag cuts Afridi for four, no problem at all.

21:16 PST

DROPPED- Umar Akmal drops Kohli at point, great attempt, was parallel to the ground.

21:14 PST

BOUNDARY- Arafat into the attack and Kohli welcomes him with two fours. The first one a cover drive on the up, great timing!

21:11 PST

No slip in place! Kohli dances down the track and edge Afridi to where first slip should have been!

21:07 PST

BOUNDARY- SIX! Kohli comes down the track and picks Shahid Afridi for a big one over long off.

21:03 PST

BOUNDARY- Virat Kohli goes on the back foot and plays a beautiful shot off Saeed Ajmal. Ajmal disappointed with the fielder in the ring. India comfortably placed at 36/1 in 6.

20:59 PST

BOUNDARY- WICKET- Sehwag strikes two fours, one of Gul and the other a paddle sweep off Hasan. He looks very comfortable out there and reports about his indifferent attitude in practice sessions seem pretty irrelevant. He can sit around and still play this way.

20:53 PST

BOUNDARY- Virender Sehwag times that beautifully through the off side. No slip in place, Hafeez must rethink his plans to Sehwag.

20:46 PST

Umar Gul to bowl from the other end. Will he find his rhythm early on?

20:42 PST

WICKET- Raza Hasan opens for Pakistan, and gets Gautam Gambhir! Good sharp catch off his own bowling! Just the start Pakistan would have been looking for, but there is a long line of quality batsmen to follow.

20:27 PST

WICKET- Balaji around the wicket this time, another slower ball and this time Gul loses his balance and edges to Dhoni! Ajmal follows next ball! Pakistan all out 128! Great performance by the Indians, who have done this largely through part-time bowlers!

20:27 PST

BOUNDARY- SIX! Gul times Balaji's attempted yorker over square leg!

20:25 PST

Pakistan 122/8. Last over coming up, how much can they get?

20:22 PST

BOUNDARY- Lucky four for Pakistan, Gul edges Zaheer to fine leg where Balaji's dives in vain

20:20 PST

WICKET- Yuvraj into the act again! His direct hit from point catches Arafat inches short of his ground!

20:16 PST

WICKET- Umar Akmal now falls, again at a bad time in this Pakistan innings. Slaps Ashwin to Suresh Raina on the boundary. Umar Gul in, Pakistani fans looking towards him now for a repeat performance. That 18th over cost just 1 run.

20:15 PST

BOUNDARY- Another slower looking shorter ball and Yasir Arafat tries to smack it, ends up hitting it over the keeper!

20:12 PST

Balaji hard to get away here, he doesn't look too threatening but has got a lot of variety! His 'slower-bouncers' doing the trick. Would these 'slower bouncers' have worked back in the day, say against a batsman such as Gordon Greenidge?

20:08 PST

WICKET- Malik hits Ashwin straight to mid wicket! He was looking great and ideally should have stuck in for a couple of more overs! His wicket could bring Pakistan's final total down by 15-20 runs.

20:05 PST

BOUNDARY- Malik looks in great form, clips Balaji to fine leg for four. 8 off the over, Pakistan 105/5 in 15 overs.

19:57 PST

BOUNDARY- SIX! Umar Akmal gets that one right in the middle, and Pathan gives away 12 runs from his over

19:51 PST

BOUNDARY- Shoaib Malik picks Kohli off for two boundaries, first off a free-hit that is smacked over the covers and then a cut towards third man.

19:48 PST

Pakistan 65/5 in 11. 130 should be their realistic target. Going by the results of the previous matches and keeping in mind that the pitch will ease up, it should be comfortable for India. What will be going through the minds of the Pakistani bowlers right now?

19:44 PST

WICKET- 'Part-timer' Virat Kohli bowls Hafeez as the batsman attempted to cut a ball headed towards leg-stump.

19:41 PST

BOUNDARY- Hafeez finally gets one away! Short in length from Yuvraj, smacked toward long on! Replays of previous over show Hafeez well short of his ground as Dhoni attempted to run him out. The keeper dropped the ball, just before dislodging the bails otherwise the Pakistan captain would have been yards short!

19:38 PST

WICKET- Yuvraj picks up another one! Another well-flighted delivery, Kamran Akmal's eye lit up as he tried to smack it over the boundary, another faint edge and Dhoni makes no mistake. And to think Ravi Shastri wanted Yuvraj on the bench!

19:32 PST

WICKET- Jamshed falls. The batsman shocked at that caught behind decision. A loopy delivery from Yuvraj Singh which Jamshed attempted to smack over mid on, missed completely. The replays pick up a sound but no apparent deviation.

19:28 PST

Nasir Jamshed has joined Hafeez at the crease. India have brought on Ravichandran Ashwin, his performance will be key to either side's chances.

19:21 PST

WICKET- Afridi goes! Balaji's shorter ball does the trick, just when Sanjay Manjrekar was commenting how the Indian seamers lack bite. Raina takes the catch at the deep square leg boundary.

19:17 PST

Australia and Netherlands pacer Dirk Nannes, commentating for BBC Test Match Special, says:

"I was fortunate enough to play with Afridi in Australia this year - he's quite a relaxed guy off the field but when he's in, it's very difficult to get him out." Afridi needs to relax on the field for at least 5-7 overs, Pakistan would hope. Lakshmipathy Balaji into the attack.

19:09 PST

BOUNDARY- Another one from Afridi! Short, out side off and Pathan pays for it. 13 runs and wicket from Pathan's first over.

19:06 PST

BOUNDARY- Shahid Afridi in. Smacks Pathan over his head for four. Good decision by Pakistan to send Afridi in early but how long will it last? We had asked earlier: Should Afridi go up the order against India? The overwhelming response from our readers either called for the sacking of Afridi or his demotion down the order. Hafeez seems to have answered in Afridi's favour, let's see if the player repays the faith.

19:05 PST

WICKET- Nazir goes, Pathan strikes with his second ball. The ball seemed to have struck the batsman high on his pads but the umpire was quick to raise his finger!

19:04 PST

BOUNDARY- Imran Nazir and Pakistan continue to ride their luck as Irfran Pathan concedes a boundary now.

19:02 PST

BOUNDARY- Pakistan open their account with a flurry of boundaries, Zaheer Khan all over the place!

Flamboyant opener Virender Sehwag was back for India as Pakistan won the toss and opted to bat in the World Twenty20 Super Eights group two at Premedasa stadium on Sunday.

Pakistan go in with the same line-up which beat South Africa by two wickets in Colombo on Friday.

Sehwag was surprisingly left out of the Indian team which lost to Australia by nine wickets in the first Super Eights match on Friday. Sehwag and fast bowler Lakshmipathy Balaji were brought in for Harbhajan Singh and Piyush Chawla.

If Pakistan win this match they will qualify for the semi-finals along with Australia from the group. In case of an Indian victory, all four teams will go into the last matches on Tuesday with a chance to reach the last four.

Australia moved closer to the semi-finals after recording their second win in as many matches by thumping South Africa by eight wickets earlier in the day.
