Umer Sharif park inaugurated

KARACHI, Oct 10: Sindh Governor Dr Ishratul Ibad inaugurated Umer Sharif park in Clifton on Wednesday.

He also inspected ongoing construction work at the Bagh-i-Ibne Qasim, link road from Karachi Grammar School’s college section to Street No. 11 in Clifton and the shrine of Abdullah Shah Ghazi.

The governor said parks had already been named after singer Mehdi Hassan and actor Moin Akhtar. Now a park having an area of 2.4 acres was being named after artist Umer Sharif, he added.

He also announced that a Legend Trust had been established to provide financial aid to over 30 artists, who, he said, were like ambassadors of our country.
