JI stages protest

ATTOCK, Oct 14: The Jamaat-i-Islami (JI) women wing, Attock chapter, on Sunday, staged a peaceful protest against the anti-Islam film produced in the US.

Hundreds of women of JI wing took out a rally from the main JI office at Darulsalam colony, against the American government and the producers of the blasphemous film.

The women protesters along with their children were carrying placards and banners inscribed with slogans.

The rally after passing through Attock-Kamra road reached the Darulsalam colony chowk. Speaking on the occasion, the JI leaders Ameer JI Attock, Iqbal Khan, Shahab Rafique Malik and Maulana Ilyas Angori condemned  the film for hurting the sentiments of the Muslims and also   called the making of the movie a “devilish act”.

They demanded the government of Pakistan and other Muslim rulers to end their diplomatic ties with the US. They also demanded of the government of Pakistan to expel the American ambassador. They said Islam is the religion of peace, tranquility and brotherhood. Later the protesters dispersed peacefully. — Correspondent
