Tennis Hall of Fame suspends Hewitt

NEWPORT (Rhode Island), Nov 16: The International Tennis Hall of Fame on Thursday suspended former doubles champion Bob Hewitt over allegations that he sexually abused girls he coached.

It did not expel Hewitt because he has not been convicted of a crime, executive director Mark Stenning told the Boston Globenewspaper.

Hewitt, who was born in Dubbo, Australia, is under investigation in South Africa, where he now lives, but has not been charged. —AFP
