Release of more Taliban sought

KABUL, Nov 17: The Afghan government and Taliban said on Saturday they wanted to see more Taliban released from Pakistani jails, in a move seen as a step to bring militants to the negotiating table before Nato’s 2014 withdrawal.Earlier this week an agreement was reached at a meeting between Pakistani officials and Afghanistan’s High Peace Council that resulted in the release of a group of Taliban in Pakistan.  “We hope the releasing of Taliban prisoners from Pakistani jails continues and more Taliban who are willing to negotiate are released,” the chief of the HPC said in Kabul. —AFP
