Yasir in Sindh Snooker Cup final

KARACHI, Dec 6: Outsider Mohammad Yasir shocked fourth seed Fahad Khan 4-2 to enter final of the sixth juniors Sindh Snooker Cup at a local parlour on Thursday.

Yasir, who was tied two-all, played cautiously to post 36-61, 75-36, 64-31, 61-81, 71-31, 63-26 victory over the seeded cueist in the semi-final.

He is drawn to meet second seed Khizar Aziz in the Friday’s final after the blanked Haris Nadeem 4-0 in the other pre-final the scores being 67-48, 65-45, 93-18, 66-32.

Earlier in the day, Haris disposed off third seed Hammad-ur-Rehman 4-0 in the quarter-final. He was home 65-7, 65-29, 77-24, 52-17.

In the other three quarters, Yasir handed out 4-2 defeat to Usman Khan, Fahad whipped Hafiz Ibrahim 4-1 while Khizar gets the better of Shariq Alvi by the identical score line.

Results: Quarter-finals:Mohammad Yasir bt Usman Khan 4-2 (14-55, 72-58, 50-44, 44-15, 53-56, 53-49); Fahad Khan bt Hafiz Ibrahim 4-1 (46-53, 52-25, 52-51, 53-33, 66-26); Haris Nadeem bt Hammad-ur-Rehman 4-0 (65-7, 65-29, 77-24, 52-17); Khizar Aziz bt Shariq Alvi 4-1 (47-43, 48-58, 77-2, 48-37, 53-49).

Semi-finals:Mohammad Yasir bt Fahad Khan 4-2 (36-61, 75-36, 64-31, 61-81, 71-31, 63-26); Khizar Aziz bt Haris Nadeem 4-0 (67-48, 65-45, 93-18, 66-32).

Friday’s fixtures:Mohammad Yasir v Khizar Aziz final at 3pm.
