LAHORE: Ishaq Dar returns to contest Senate polls

LAHORE, Jan 11: Former finance minister and PML-N Ishaq Dar returned to Pakistan on Saturday after several months’ stay abroad to contest the Senate election.

He was received by his PML-N colleagues Inamullah Khan Niazi, Haji Hanif, Bilal Yasin, Ajasim Sharif and others.

Talking to reporters, he said his party would respond positively to any ‘positive’ suggestion for the unification of PML factions.

He said talks with President Gen Musharraf and the Jamali government could be held provided they accepted the ARD’s point of view on various issues.

Replying to a question, Mr Dar said the exiled Sharifs would return to the country with the efforts of the masses.

He claimed that compared to the PML-N government, Gen Musharraf had done nothing for the country. Projects launched by Nawaz Sharif were, on completion, inaugurated by the general, he said.
