Naveen, Majid set up final clash in Sindh Snooker Cup

KARACHI, Jan 4: Naveen Perwani, a former international and top seed, and qualifier A. Majid Anwar stormed into the final of 21st Sindh Snooker Cup winning their pre-finals in contrasting styles at the Indus Snooker Parlour on Friday.

Naveen, who finished runner-up in the league in his group with five wins out of seven games, was brilliant while registering 72-71, 55-75, 77-61, 59-27, 87-36, 89-30 victory over Uzair Aziz in the best of nine battle.

Majid, was however, extended to full distance by Khizar Aziz before winning 60-19, 4-60, 52-53, 69-39, 44-79, 22-75, 65-50, 68-27, 53-44.

The best of 11 frames final between Naveen and Majid will be played on Saturday at 11am.

Besides Naveen, other three seeded players — Mohammad Ishtiaq, Agha Bilawal and Farrukh Usman —failed to make it to the last four making room for qualifiers Majid, Uzair and Khizar.
