Shipments held up at Chaman
KARACHI, Jan 30: Huge fruit and vegetable export consignments destined for Central Asian Republics were held up at Chaman border by Afghan customs officials without any reason.
All Pakistan Fruit and Vegetable Importers, Exporters and Merchants Association Chairman Waheed Ahmed said 200 trucks loaded with kinno and potato had been stuck up at Chamman border for the last three days.
The goods would become rotten if they miss their shipment deadlines and also result in foreign exchange losses.
He urged the Trade Development Authority of Pakistan to take up the matter at higher level.
