PAF chapter regain basketball title

KARACHI, Feb 7: Former champions The City School PAF Chapter beat holders The City School Gulshan A-Levels 44-32 in thrilling final to recapture the crown in the 11th AKU Inter-school/collegiate boys’ under-19 basketball tournament which concluded at their premises the other day.

Siraj Sohail starred for the winners with a score of 19 points. He was ably assisted by Wajeeh Ahmed who scored nine. Shehryar Raza top scored for losers with 11 points.

Siraj, the top scorer of the final, won the Most Valuable Player (MVP) of the tournament award while M Abbas, Wajeeh Ahmed, Immad Naveed and Owais Khan were awarded consolation prizes.

Dr Keith Cash, Dean School of Nursing and Midwifery Services, AKU and former Pakistan hockey captain Sohail Abbas graced the occasion and awarded trophies to the winners and runners-up.

Manager AKU Sports Centre, Riaz Akbar Contractor and Sindh Basketball Association secretary Abdul Nasir were also present.
