Two PML-F MPAs, ex-MNA join PPP

LAHORE, Feb 12: Two MPAs of Pakistan Muslim League-Functional (PML-F) and a former MNA on Tuesday announced joining the People’s Party.

MPAs Qazi Ahmed Saeed and Asma Mamdot and former MNA Ghulam Rasool Koreja belong to the home district of Punjab Governor Makhdoom Ahmed Mahmood -- Rahim Yar Khan.

Sources say the governor played a role in bringing the three men into the PPP fold.

They announced joining the party in the presence of PPP central Punjab president Manzoor Wattoo at a press conference here.

Wattoo said brutal torture of PPP deputy parliamentary leader Shaukat Basra had exposed the ‘real face’ of Shahbaz Sharif’s government in Punjab.

To a question, he said Nawaz Sharif was showing reluctance to accept the condolence of President Asif Zardari on the death of his (Nawaz’s) brother (Abbas Sharif).

He said resources of other districts of Punjab were used on one road of Lahore which was very unfortunate.
