Violence in Karachi claims six lives

KARACHI: At least six persons including a woman and a child were killed in separate incidents of violence in various areas of the city whereas five persons including a cleric were also on injured, DawnNews reported on Monday.

A woman died in a gunfiring incident in Machar colony near the Docks area of Karachi.

One man died of gunshot wounds suffered in Kunwari colony area withing the remit of Manghopir police station.

The body of a 10-year-old boy was found in Ibrahim Hyderi's Rehri Goth area in Karachi area. The body was found with a noose around the neck according to police sources.

Another person died of gunshot wounds in Kharadar area near the paper market.

Two more bodies were found in Karachi's Orangi town and Ibrahim Hyderi areas. The bodies bore marks of torture.

Unknown gunmen opened fire on a vehicle in PECHS block 2 area injuring the occupants of the car. A cleric and his driver were critically injured in the attack.

Three other persons were injured in separate incidents of violence in Malir and Memon Goth areas of the city.

In another unrelated incident two alleged robbers were killed during an encounter with policemen in Korangi N0. 6 area of Karachi. The robbers were busy looting a sweets shop in the area when a police party reached the spot and an encounter ensued, according to police sources
