ANP election office attacked in Swabi, two injured

SWABI: Militants on Monday night targeted an election office of Awami National Party (ANP) in Swabi District injuring two workers including the Pakhtun Students Federation District president, local and official sources said.

The militants threw a hand grenade at the election office of PK-31 Swabi-1 ANP candidate, Gul Zamin Shah in Maneri.

As a result two people, including the Pakhtun Students Federation District President Osama, were injured, official sources said.

The district Police Officer Dr Saeed confirmed to Dawn.Com that the ANP election office was attacked with a hand grenade and that they have reports one person was injured who had been shifted to hospital.

However, locals and party workers say that two people were injured, but none of them were shifted to hospital.

This is the second attack on ANP election campaign in Swabi.

Earlier ANP leader Haji Rehmatullah was attacked in Shawa which had also left one person injured.
