Policeman killed in Abbottabad

ABBOTTABAD, April 25: Police constable Zafar Shah was killed allegedly by a member of drug mafia on the busiest depot road of Havelian on Thursday morning.

A case has been registered with Havelian police station under section 302/34 against the alleged killer whose name was not disclosed to the media.

According to police, Zafar Shah was on routine duty when he stopped a man selling narcotics. When he tried to approach him, another accused opened fire on the policeman resulting in bullet injuries to him. He was rushed to Abbottabad Hospital but he succumbed to his injuries on way to hospital.

Later, his funeral prayers were offered at police lines ground and the body was dispatched to his hometown Shiekhulbandi for burial.
