Plot to bring 'rightists' into power, says Altaf

KARACHI: Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) chief Altaf Hussain said on Friday that plots were being hatched to bring right-wing political parties into power, DawnNews reported.

The MQM chief further said that the party would not back off from the upcoming elections.

Moreover the party’s Rabita committee deputy convener Farooq Sattar said that the elections results had apparently been decided already.

Addressing media persons in Karachi, Sattar said that the MQM was being kept away from the elections through a conspiracy.

He questioned whether the upcoming polls would be ‘selection’ or ‘election’.

Sattar further said that a plot was being hatched to bring right-wing parties into power but the MQM would not boycott the upcoming elections.

The statements came after two attacks in Karachi on the political party during the past week.

Moreover Karachi was under a city-wide shut-down todayafter a call by the MQM to observe a day of mourning over a blast that had targeted one of the party’s election offices in the city a day earlier.

This was the second day of closure in the city during the past one week.
