Altaf condemns killing of two MQM workers in Hyderabad

HYDERABAD: Chief of the Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) Altaf Hussain on Tuesday strongly condemned the killing of two of his party workers who were gunned down in Hyderabad on Monday night, DawnNews reported.

The deceased identified as Nadeem Ajmeri and Manzoor Ahmed were killed when unknown assailants opened fire in the Latifabad area of Hyderabad.

Altaf said MQM was being targeted recurrently in incidents of terror and bomb blasts, adding that it was a plot to sabotage his party from taking part in the coming elections.

He also agitated against the killing of MQM's Hyderabad candidate Fakhrul Islam last month who was contesting for the Sindh provincial assembly’s PS-47 seat.

Altaf appealed to President Asif Ali Zardari, caretaker Prime Minister Mir Hazar Khan Khoso, caretaker Interior Minister Habib Khan and Chief Election Commissioner Fakhruddin G. Ebrahim to arrest those responsible and adopt emergency measures to curb terrorism.
