Quetta Chamber threatens strike

QUETTA, April 6: The Quetta Chamber of Commerce and Industry (QCCI) has threatened to go on strike if relief is not provided under the amnesty scheme to regularise the smuggled and non-duty paid vehicles.

President Ghulam Farooq said on Saturday that thousands of smuggled vehicles were registered under the scheme but now the FIA was confiscating the record halting further process of registration.

The Federal Tax Ombudsman taking notice of rising complaints about misuse of the scheme has ordered the FIA to confiscate the registration record.
