HYDERABAD: Protest against assault on girl: Police helping accused: relatives

HYDERABAD, Feb 11: A group of residents of Allahdad Chand village held a demonstration outside the local press club here on Tuesday against partisan attitude of the Phuleli police regarding kidnapping of a minor girl.

Talking to journalists, the father of the girl, K.M.K, said that his daughter, M, was kidnapped on Feb 10 and a case was registered by the Phuleli police.

He complained that the police distorted facts in the FIR and applied wrong sections of the PPC to save the accused persons.

He said that after recovery of her daughter, the police sent her to a hospital, with a letter asking for a certificate of injuries.

He said that she was subjected to a criminal assault but the police did not seek a certificate in this regard.

He said that the police arrested two accused, Shafqat and Raheel, but the third accused, Yousuf, was still absconding.

He feared that the police was about to release the arrested accused men and demanded that the victim girl should be medically examined whether she was subjected to a criminal assault or not.

He also demanded that the absconding accused should be arrested and the case should be sent for trail after receipt of fresh medical certificate.
