PBC asked to return transmitter to Abbottabad

ABBOTTABAD, Feb 16: National Assembly deputy speaker Sardar Mohammad Yaqoob has told the Pakistan Broadcasting Corporation (PBC) authorities to return the high-power transmitter belonging to Abbottabad radio station in 15 days.

The transmitter had been shifted temporarily to the Mirpur radio station.

Speaking at an oath-taking ceremony of Hazara Abasin Arts Council at the Jalal Baba auditorium here on Saturday, the deputy speaker said that problems being faced by the artistes would be taken up with the concerned ministry.

Sardar Yaqoob said that the issue of the local artistes’ participation in national and international competitions and festivals organized by Lok Virsa would also be solved.

He told the PBC authorities to send back the high-power transmitter of Abbottabad radio station which had been shifted to the Mirpur radio station.

The HAAC senior vice-president Dr Azhar Jadoon, while speaking on the occasion, said that the artistes belonging to the Hazara region had won various medals and awards.

Mr Jadoon said that the HAAC was facing severe financial constraints as both federal and provincial governments had suspended grants since long.
