Nine killed in Chaman road mishap

At least nine people were killed and five others sustained critical injuries after a trailer loaded with cooking oil overturned on two vehicles here on Boghra Road, DSP Zia Mandokhail said on Wednesday.

According to the APP, the trailer which was going to Quetta from Chaman turned over and trampled two vehicles after one of its rear tyres stuck into a manhole on the road. As a result nine people including Abdul Shakur, Asmatullah, Haji Muhammad, Allaudin, Ihsanullah, Ghulam Muhammad, Dur Muhammad and Asadullah died on the spot while five others sustained critical injuries and were admitted to the hospital for treatment.

Area police along with local people helped pull out the wounded from the badly damaged vehicles.

Driver of the trailer fled from the scene soon after the incident. A case was registered against him.
