PAARL, Feb 25: Wasim Akram on Tuesday became the first bowler to claim 500 wickets in One-day Internationals during Pakistan’s 97-run victory over Holland.

The 36-year-old left-arm speedster reached the coveted milestone when he clean bowled Dutch opener Nick Statham for a duck in his second over.

Later, the former Pakistan captain captured two more wickets to take his tally to 502 in 354 one-dayers.
