Blaming Musharraf

I AM no fan of Pervez Musharraf. Although he allegedly toppled a constitutionally elected government, his ambitious military excursion in Kargil resulted in pointless massacre and the maiming of hundreds of soldiers.

There is no dearth of reasons for which he should not be hanged, but blaming him for the death of Benazir Bhutto is not plausible.

Any sane person who listens to the ongoing debates in the media on the subject can easily infer that the fault lies somewhere else. Every representative of the PPP seems to be deflecting the piercing questions and protecting the real culprits.

Their annoyance at direct questions and moving away from the camera prove that they are intentionally hiding the facts.

It is interesting that BB's murder was nothing more than a catalyst for winning elections for the PPP stalwarts at the time of its happening.

The UN report has accused nobody, but the participants in the debates draw easy inferences and point fingers at a convenient direction. This is time the Supreme Court intervened and after investigation apportioned the blame for BB's murder and bring the culprits to trial.
